Demetra McMullan started taking sewing classes with the humble goal of making a few garments that would fit her properly.  It was always hard to find things that flattered her frame and, her reasoning was that, it would be easier to make a garment than to launch an often-frustrating search to find something that would be the fit, fabric, and color that she wanted.

What started out as a practical pursuit, quickly blossomed into an all-out passion for creating clothing and accessories that were uniquely her own.  She spent all her free time buying fabric and sewing clothes that finally fit.  It was exhilarating!

Hungry for more knowledge, Demetra went on to study at Parsons School of Design (NYC).  She signed up for every course that would help her gain insight into how to produce her own line of dresses and evening wear – her new goal.  Three years after taking her first basic sewing class, Demetra designed and sewed her own wedding dress.

When she moved to California, she went to work for Jessica McClintock.  Demetra continued to educate herself - this time - about the mechanics of producing garments on a large scale.

Now with two young daughters (who both sew) her focus is on staying closer to home and teaching other people how to sew.  Demetra hopes to ignite in her students the same passion and excitement that still invigorates her.
